The transition has really begun! My schoolroom is the first thing I have started packing up, it will also be the first room I set up and organize. We had started schooling for the new year, but we will stick to just working on English and math until the learning room is set up. Then I will plow forward with Ancient History, Science, Spanish and everything else!!!
The second part of the transition has started rolling as well, the cottage renovation! Surprisingly, the renter moved out a lot faster than expected, so that will allow us to start the renovation on this roughly 400 square foot house on his parents property.
It’s hard to believe my hubby and I lived here about 18 years ago to save money for our first house. What a blessing it was to live here rent free. Now we are back on the property to help them, with children in tow!
We will replace the carpet, clean and paint the walls. Then decide how we want to handle the shower. This little place was built using scrap wood, so putting a lot of money into it is not an option. But we can clean it up and make it homey for the kids. Since the plan is to have it be the kid zone.
Since our main living space will be a fifth wheel, our indoor living space will be extremely limited. So having this extra space for the kids to hang out or spread out will be a huge blessing. With this great lifestyle change, I expect us to spend much more time outside. Both on this property and taking little road trips and weekend beach getaways.
The best part is the kids get to spend more time with their grandparents, and we will have the opportunity to grow a vegetable garden and raise some chickens.
Honestly, it will truly be a different lifestyle than what we have now, but one I will welcome.
Looking forward to sharing some of this adventure with you!
“I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:10-13
